Biography

Background:

Time truly flies when you’re having fun. With the exception of a five-year stint at Harris Corporation, Mark has worked in financial services for more than twenty years. According to Mark, “I did not enter the profession lightly; I did a lot of research.”

Philosophy:

It’s easy to say that your business is oriented to serving clients, but Mark and his team have actually put pen to paper to define their mission and vision. As Mark puts it, “Our vision is to be a shield of faith and truth that helps guide people through their financial journey to help them realize their life goals.” This symbolic expression means that the mission of his office is to develop relationships with clients to help them navigate their financial issues through client-centered planning techniques.

“Products are at the end of the process,” explains Mark. “too much of the financial services industry is centered around products and not on first listening and understanding each client’s special needs.” What distinguishes Mark from so many others is his low-key approach to working with clients- a style predicated on valuing people for their intrinsic worth and effective research. “I believe it’s important for financial professionals to show up when times are good and when times are bad, in up markets and down markets.”

“I believe our clients are an extension of our family,” says Mark. “I have a sincere desire to make things better for people.” Mark and his team believe that success is a function of not what you do, but what you do right. Philosophically, Mark “evaluates his success by the success of his clients.”

Mark enjoys working most with professionals, including CPAs and their clients. “That’s my educational background coming through,” exclaims Mark with some humility. But in general, Mark works closely with a variety of clients, including those as young as 40 through retirement age. He has also developed a following with small businesses and dental practices. The common thread is that each client possesses a sincere desire to make things better in their lives.

Personal and Professional Affiliations

Mark is active in coaching soccer and basketball. He is a member of Society of Financial Services Professionals. Mark and his wife, Karen, have three children and live in Fairport.
